The role includes performing critical GYN exams and procedures in a small critical access hospital with supportive staff and routine responsibilities. Ideal candidates must be licensed in Maine and possess strong GYN skills.
Qualifications
- Must be board certified and hold a valid medical license.
- Strong skills in GYN procedures required.
- Willingness to perform routine GYN exams and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine GYN exams and procedures including endometrial ablation and IUD procedures.
- Handle on-call duties alongside clinic responsibilities.
- Manage complications with support from CNMs and other staff.

Coverage Needed:
- September 1, 2025 - ongoing
- On-call most days, with some days both on-call and in clinic
- Open shifts for 2025:
- Sept 1-2, 10-11, 15, 17-22, 24-29
- Oct 1-2, 6, 8-13, 29 - Nov 3
- Nov 5, 19-24, 26-27
- Dec 1, 10-15, 17-18, 22, 29, 31
Clinical Details:
- Routine GYN exams and procedures: endometrial ablation, IUD insertion/removal, menopausal management, failed medical management, urinary incontinence
- Call: CNMs take first call; OB/GYN is called in for complications
- Support Staff: Clinic staffs with OB/GYNs, FM/OBs, and CNMs
- Small, 25-bed, critical access hospital
- 120 births per year
Requirements:
- Board Certified
- Active ME License or Active IMLC
- Must be willing and able to perform routine required GYN exams and procedures (e.g. endometrial ablation, IUD insertion/removal, Menopausal management, failed medical management, Urinary Incontinence etc.)
- Strong GYN skills
