Position Details:
- Full-time, permanent position
- Salary at the MGMA median in the market
- Women's health - bread and butter practice
- Reason for searches: 1 OBGYN moved to Laborist role at the hospital; another accepted a position closer to home
- Clinic: Monday - Friday, 4.5 days; Admin: 0.5 days
- 1 to 6 call coverage
- Certified Midwife involved in inpatient and laborist duties for 8-10 days/month
- Team includes 5 MDs
- Heavier load of Medicaid patients; BCBS second
- NICU babies transferred to McLeod Florence
- CNM handles deliveries, covers first call, and delivers during the day for on-call providers
- Call schedule: 1 in 5, with overnight phones and high probability of delivery calls
- Town call for all med cred providers: approximately 1 delivery to 8 deliveries, every other weekend (roughly Friday 1pm to Monday 8am), covering about 10 providers for 3 days
- The practice delivers more babies than any other hospital in the area, resulting in high OB volume but a balanced GYN workload
- Many GYN surgeries, utilizing daVinci robotic system; providers set up their templates
- Most providers see 25-28 patients daily, with an average of 25 OB appointments per week per provider (GYN 40%, OB 60%)
- Patient rotation: patients establish with one provider and rotate through others; on-call providers deliver the babies
- No call stipend
- GYN patients stay with their assigned provider; OBs rotate for deliveries
- OR cases: physicians operate with partners as assistants; no block scheduling, start at 7:30 am
- Call schedule published monthly, typically one day a week and one weekend every 6-8 weeks, shared rotation
