OB/GYN Hospitalist Opportunity

The Opportunity: Texas Children's Hospital - Austin (TCHA) is highly specialized and offers numerous resources to families during the birthing process. Private mother-baby rooms with soothing colors and spa-like amenities promote mother-baby bonding, breastfeeding support, and postpartum care. TCHA was ranked among the nation's best children's hospitals by U.S. News. In February 2024, Texas Children's Hospital North Austin will open a state-of-the-art, $485 million hospital for children and women, led by top pediatric and women's health specialists. TCHA anticipates approximately 400 annual deliveries as they build their patient base.

OBHG OB/GYN Hospitalists are in-house experts who handle obstetric emergencies, improving patient safety and satisfaction. This role involves collaborating with local obstetricians to ensure every pregnant woman receives experienced care. We seek OB/GYNs with excellent clinical and communication skills, a passion for healthcare quality, and a desire to influence the future of the specialty.

OBHG offers a clinician-centered environment with an outstanding benefits package and work/life balance. Full-time hospitalists typically work eight 24-hour shifts per month with no on-call duties or office management responsibilities.

A day in the life includes:

  • Caring for all pregnant women presenting emergently
  • Building relationships with staff nurses and hospital personnel
  • Supporting private practice physicians with coverage and assistance
  • Caring for unassigned patients
  • Evaluating and treating triage patients
  • Providing ED consultation
  • Monitoring labor and delivering babies
  • Performing surgeries and assisting in surgical procedures
  • Evaluating and treating postpartum patients
  • Providing nurse support and education

Leadership Opportunities:
