Overview

Physician for Women’s Health (PWH), a proud affiliate of Women’s Health Connecticut, is comprised of Physicians who demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide obstetrical and gynecological care, appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Shoreline OB GYN, part of Physicians for Women’s Health in New London, CT, is seeking a full-time Physician to support our OB/GYN practice. Our current MD staffing includes four Physicians, a Certified Nurse Midwife, and a Physician Assistant. Three Physicians share call duties equally during weekdays, with weekends ratioed as 1:7 and cross-covered with additional Physician groups. The practice is affiliated with Lawrence and Memorial Hospital.

Candidates must have the ability to diagnose patient conditions and provide appropriate treatment recommendations, demonstrating knowledge of fetal growth and development, and the ability to identify and address age-specific patient needs.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  1. Perform comprehensive physical examinations and compile patient medical data, including health history and physical exam results.
  2. Order or perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, and basic wound care.
  3. Instruct and counsel patients on compliance with therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional health, and health maintenance.
  4. Develop and implement patient management plans, monitor hospitalized patients as appropriate, record progress notes, and assist in providing continuity of care.
  5. Gain competence in Electronic Medical Record System.
  6. Submit billing at the time of office visits.

Requirements:
  • Experience in OB/GYN or Women’s Health
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification or eligibility
  • Connecticut medical license
  • Federal and State controlled substance licenses
  • BLS certification
  • Eligibility for hospital privileges
  • Effective verbal and written communication, listening, and customer service skills
