Job summary

Birth Detroit is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technician to perform obstetric ultrasound exams, acquire diagnostic images, and communicate findings to the care team. The role emphasizes safety, patient-centered care, and adherence to clinical protocols and privacy standards.

The contractor will work 1–2 shifts per month, with sessions paid per completed study. Candidates should have an approved Sonography program, RDMS OB/GYN credentials, and a minimum of three years of obstetric imaging

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Current RDMS OB/GYN registration or equivalent OB/GYN credential.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of three years obstetric sonography experience.
• Ability to independently perform obstetric ultrasound examinations.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality obstetric ultrasound examinations within approved scope.
• Obtain complete, accurate diagnostic images and measurements.
• Identify normal vs abnormal findings and elevate concerns to the provider.
• Maintain organized records and adhere to protocols.
• Communicate clearly with clients and care teams.
