Job summary

SageWest Health Care in Wyoming seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Women's Services unit. You will provide comprehensive obstetric, labor and delivery, postpartum, and neonatal care, guiding patients and families through the care process with compassion and clinical precision.

You will monitor fetal status and maternal health, administer medications, educate families, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe discharge planning.

Qualifications

• ADN is required; BSN preferred.
• Wyoming RN license or compact state.
• BLS, NRP, ACLS, and fetal monitoring certification as per policy.
• Minimum of six months obstetrical nursing experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care in obstetrics, labor and delivery, postpartum, and nursery.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized care plans for mothers and infants.
• Monitors fetal heart tones, vital signs, and patient status during labor and postpartum.
• Administers medications, performs procedures, and assists physicians with exams and deliveries.
• Educates patients and families on postpartum care, infant care, breastfeeding, and discharge instructions.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
• Participates in emergency response situations including neonatal resuscitation and postpartum hemorrhage.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning.
• Maintains a safe, clean environment in accordance with infection control standards.
• Participates in staff training, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiatives.
