Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse on the 25-bed Med Observation Unit at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill. You will provide competent nursing care and coordinate patient care using the nursing process in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires RN licensure in NC, BLS, and at least one year of nursing experience. Shifts are three 12-hour rotations with differential for weekends, nights, and evenings.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Current North Carolina RN license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Education - participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self; uses patient education materials relevant to patient population.
• Evaluation of Care - identifies expected patient outcomes and communicates to promote continuity of care.
• Implementation - provides care for patients with complex problems and coordinates care.
• Leadership - supports unit goals and collaboration; promotes cost-effective care.
• Patient Assessment - identifies priorities for care and anticipates discharge needs.
• Planning - collaborates on the plan of care with multidisciplinary resources.
