Job summary

BJC HealthCare in Saint Louis, Missouri seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Direct Observation Unit (DOU) on a full-time night shift. The unit cares for patients requiring short-term observation, monitoring and recovery, typically within a 24-hour stay. A sign-on bonus up to $15,000 is available for external applicants.

The role offers a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a strong ED partnership and excellent exposure for nurses new to emergency or acute care settings.

Qualifications

• Education Nursing Diploma/Associate's - Nursing.
• Licenses & Certifications RN.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
