Job summary

UPMC, a leading healthcare provider in central Pennsylvania, seeks a Physician to serve as Director for ED Observation. This role focuses on recruitment, performance evaluation, and ensuring high-quality patient care within Observation services.

You will collaborate with referring physicians and internal departments to optimize outcomes and satisfaction. The Director will lead quality initiatives, coordinate with the health system, and drive protocols with nursing and clinical teams to support

Qualifications

• Recruitment and retention of physicians to serve within ED Observation
• Oversight of quality measures and outcomes for the program
• Interaction with referring physicians and attention to their concerns
• Evaluating and giving feedback to practicing ED Obs physicians regarding their performance (clinical and administrative)
• Ensure that ED Obs physicians' patients meet the quality and patient satisfaction guidelines as established by regulatory and payer agencies
• Serve as a liaison between the ED Obs physicians' program and various other clinical departments

Responsibilities

• Recruit physicians to serve within ED Observation
• Oversee quality measures and outcomes for the ED Observation program
• Interact with referring physicians and address concerns
• Evaluate ED Obs physicians and provide feedback on performance
• Ensure patient care meets regulatory and payer guidelines
