Job summary

UPMC Altoona is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Resource Pool & Observation Unit. The RN will primarily work in the Observation unit and may float to med/surg/telemetry units as needed. There is a 36-hour weekly schedule with day/night rotations and weekend/holiday coverage.

Starting pay reflects nursing education and experience, with enhanced pay and a 10% differential for Resource Pool RNs; up to $15,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Pennsylvania RN license.
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience.
• Complete Nursing Department orientation and probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care using nursing protocols and document procedures.
• Reassess patients every eight hours or as needed.
• Coordinate with community agencies and other professionals to plan care.
