Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System in Aberdeen, MD is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Observation/ Emergency Department. The role supports patient care in a fast-paced ED setting with day shifts from 7am to 7:30pm and includes a $9,000 sign-on bonus, subject to restrictions.

The position emphasizes independent clinical practice within a multidisciplinary team, adherence to nursing standards, and ongoing professional development aligned with unit goals and patient safety

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or eligible via compact agreements.
• More than 12 months nursing experience.
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Must meet all unit specific certification requirements such as Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and NIHSS.

Responsibilities

• Provide care and coordinate independently for patient populations within the unit.
• Serve as a clinical resource for others and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Apply evidence-based practice and advocate for patient/family needs.
• Ensure safe, timely, efficient, and patient-centered care in alignment with unit operations.
• Engage in activities to develop own practice and support unit goals.
