Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a systems engineer to build and operate the Observability platform within Production Engineering. This role focuses on metrics, alerting, logging, tracing, and related tooling to keep our globally distributed services reliable and scalable.

The team designs and runs highly distributed systems, participates in on-call rotations, and mentors others while exploring cutting-edge technologies. Lisbon/London-based hybrid work is available.

Qualifications

• Software Engineering background with proficiency in high-level programming languages (e.g., Go).
• Experience with metrics, alerting, logging, tracing and related observability tooling.
• Familiarity with distributed Linux environments and on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and operate software and a platform that progresses Cloudflare's Observability competency.
• Solve scaling bottlenecks in the Metrics & Alerting pipeline.
• Work on highly distributed and scalable systems.
