Job summary

Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company serving multiple DoD customers, seeks a Data Engineer - Observability in the Charleston, SC area to support PMW160 Tactical Networks. The engineer will design, build, and maintain telemetry, logging, and tracing systems to ensure data platform health and performance.

The role requires 3–5 years in observability, experience with Grafana/ELK, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm, plus strong DevOps practices and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience with observability technologies.
• Experience with Grafana and ELK stack architectures.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Helm for packaging Kubernetes apps.
• Knowledge of networking tools such as Nginx and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Implement monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, and alerting for data platforms and pipelines.
• Develop dashboards, alerts, service objectives, and reporting.
• Integrate telemetry with Grafana, Elastic, Splunk, or Dynatrace.
• Monitor data platform health, throughput, latency, failures, and service availability.
• Troubleshoot complex data-flow, app, infrastructure, and network issues across distributed systems.
• Design, build, test, and maintain reliable batch and real-time data pipelines.
