Job summary

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston is seeking an Associate Conservator of Objects & Sculpture to join a collaborative team focused on preserving a diverse collection. The ideal candidate will hold a graduate degree in Conservation and have 5+ years of post-graduate experience. Responsibilities include examining and treating three-dimensional works, mentoring interns, and engaging with the public. Qualifications

  • Minimum five years (Associate) or ten years (Full) of post-graduate experience in objects conservation.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of museum standards and ethical guidelines.
  • Demonstrated record of professional achievement and significant treatment projects.

Responsibilities

  • Examine, document, and treat three-dimensional works and sculpture.
  • Develop treatment plans for various works.
  • Provide condition assessments for acquisitions and loans.
  • Mentor interns and emerging professionals.
  • Engage in public-facing initiatives.
