Job summary

Harvard Central Administration (CADM) Talent Acquisition is seeking an Associate Conservator of Objects and Sculpture. The role involves reporting to the Assistant Director, performing conservation treatments, and mentoring students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conservation practices and an MA, MS, or equivalent training.

This position is integral to the Objects Lab team, focusing on outreach, research, and cultivating professional relationships across departments. A commitment to ethical practices and collaboration is vital.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; MA, MS, or Certificate in Conservation from a recognized university program or equivalent training.
  • Minimum of five years’ museum or other professional experience with demonstrated achievements in conservation examination and treatments.

Responsibilities

  • Performs condition reports, surveys, and treatments for three‑dimensional objects.
  • Prepares documentation, estimates, and correspondence for exhibitions and loans.
  • Mentors and instructs casual employees and fellows.
