St. Luke's University Health Network in Allentown, PA, is seeking an OB/GYN Physician to provide hospitalist coverage.

The role focuses on high-quality, cost-effective care for OB/GYN patients, with mentorship to residents and participation in department quality and safety initiatives. This full-time position offers 24-hour call shifts, involvement in academic activities, access to in-house neonatology support, and opportunities through St.

• Supervises Advanced Practitioners.
• Attends appropriate continuing medical education so as to maintain Pennsylvania/New Jersey Licensure.

The St. Luke's Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician will provide high quality, cost effective medical care. This individual will also participate in quality, patient satisfaction, and performance improvement initiatives.

About the Position:

This position will provide hospitalist coverage in Allentown, PA.

Shifts are structured as 24 hours per call with approximately 7 to 8 shifts per month (full time).

The hospitalist will provide care to OB/GYN patients, provide mentorship to OB/GYN residents and medical students and participate in departmental quality and safety and research initiatives.

About the Department:

St. Luke's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology consists of over 100 physicians and advanced practitioners spread over 40 practice locations.

Rapidly growing obstetrical program with over 6,000 deliveries per year across 3 birthing facilities.

New state of the art birthing centers located at St. Luke's Anderson Campus, St. Luke's Allentown Campus and St. Luke's Upper Bucks Campus.

Repeatedly awarded "Best Place to Have a Baby" in the Lehigh Valley by the Morning Call's Readers' Choice Awards.

Full support from a team of Maternal Fetal Medicine physicians to provide care for all OB patients (outpatient care, hospital consults, preconception counseling, genetic counseling, diabetes management, etc.).

In house 24/7 support from neonatology at each delivering campus with Level III capabilities available at St. Luke's Anderson and Allentown and Level II capabilities at St. Luke's Upper Bucks.

Outpatient support for patients and family members provided through St. Luke's Baby & Me Support Center - an innovative facility designed to support patients and their families with support during and after pregnancy (pre-natal classes, lactation support, post-partum behavioral health support, etc.).

Fully accredited training programs in OB/GYN and GYN oncology.

Ryan Program accredited residency with strong family planning program.

Robust GYN surgical volumes spanning all sub-specialties (MIGS, UroGYN, REI, Family Planning and GYN Oncology).

Dedicated departmental research efforts supported by St. Luke's Research Institute and Department of Research and Innovation.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs history and physical examination of all patients seen.
• Provides consultations on all patients as requested by other physicians.
• Rounds on assigned patients and those patients who you are requested to see in collaboration with an AP as needed.

• Makes best efforts to adhere to standardized orders and practice guidelines that have been approved by the medical staff.
• Demonstrates competency in the assessment, range of treatment, knowledge of growth and development, and communication appropriate to the age of the patient treated.
• Provides regular, timely, and appropriate communication with referring physicians, patients, and their families.
• Participates in the education of patients and their families.
• Participates in regular meetings of the practice group.
• Remains current with Medical Records documentation and responds in a timely manner to requests for chart review and completion.
• Submits timely and accurate billing information.
• Supervises Advanced Practitioners.
• Attends appropriate continuing medical education so as to maintain Pennsylvania/New Jersey Licensure.
• Demonstrates the ability to develop effective working relationships within the hospital and St. Luke's University Health Network.
• Performs duties as assigned and required within area of specialty or service line.
