Job summary

NYU Langone Health seeks a Medical Assistant for the OBGYN team at Huntington. The role supports physicians and Advanced Care Practitioners, prepares patients and rooms, and handles vital signs, blood draws, and lab specimen collection.

The MA will also schedule appointments, manage calls, and perform data entry in EPIC. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and certification options.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is expected.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant from a Nationally Recognized body (AAMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA) preferred on hire or within specified period.
• English competency in speaking, reading, and writing is essential; additional language skills are assets.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for visits
• Assist physicians and nurses with patient care and documentation
• Perform vital signs, basic measurements, blood draws and specimen collection
• Support Epic/EMR documentation, inbasket management and patient communications
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and ensure infection control standards
