Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Health is seeking a dedicated OB/GYN Hospitalist to join our expanding inpatient women’s services program in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The role focuses on labor and delivery coverage, inpatient obstetrics and gynecology care, and collaborative team-based medicine within a physician-led model.

The position offers full-time and per diem opportunities with strong APP support, access to neonatal and anesthesia coverage, and a commitment to continuity of women’s healthcare

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Completed accredited OB/GYN Residency program.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
• Board Certification required within established eligibility window.
• Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in North Carolina.
• Willingness to obtain North Carolina licensure if currently out of state.

Responsibilities

• Provide labor and delivery coverage and inpatient obstetrical management.
• Evaluate and manage obstetrical triage patients and inpatient gynecologic consultations.
• Perform vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and emergency obstetrical procedures as needed.
• Manage obstetrical emergencies and collaborate with anesthesia, neonatal, nursing, and surgical teams.
• Provide postpartum and inpatient gynecologic care.
• Assist with surgical backup and emergent gynecologic procedures when indicated.
• Collaborate with community OB/GYN physicians and outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain timely documentation within the Epic EMR.
• Communicate with patients and families regarding treatment plans.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practice initiatives.
• Support patient experience initiatives and service excellence standards.

Education

• Collaborate effectively with community OB/GYN physicians and outpatient providers to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation within the Epic electronic medical record
• Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans and care coordination
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Support patient experience initiatives and service excellence standards
