Title:

OBGYN Physician, Laborist

Location:

Greenwich, CT

Overview:

An exciting opportunity for an outstanding Laborist to join the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences at one of the largest and most comprehensive healthcare systems in Connecticut. The system is recognized for advanced clinical care, quality, service, cost-effectiveness, and a commitment to improving community health.

You will be part of a skilled team of maternity specialists, including board-certified physicians, nationally certified nurses, midwives, and experts in high-risk pregnancies. Qualified Laborists will hold full-time appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in the Academic Clinician track. The medical team provides services in partnership with obstetricians, utilizing high-level technology, and is always available to care for patients in the Labor and Delivery Unit. The team of doctors and nurses delivers nearly 2,600 babies each year!

Qualifications

• Board certified or eligible in general obstetrics and gynecology
• Superior surgical and operative vaginal delivery skills
• Experience demonstrating excellence in evidence-based obstetric care and teaching
• Experience collaborating with certified nurse midwives; interest in clinical research is desirable
• Flexibility to work 12-hour shifts (2-4 days per week)
• Experience monitoring laboring patients and delivering unassigned patients
• Strong record of safety
• Excellent communication skills with patients and physicians
• Patient safety focus

Education and Training:

• Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited program
• Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology from an accredited program
