Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support physicians in an outpatient OB/GYN clinic. You will update records, administer medications, give injections, and record vital signs, while maintaining precise documentation and patient-focused service.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, preparing rooms, guiding patients, collecting samples, performing ECGs, and ensuring a clean, well-stocked environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Less than 1 year of experience.
• BLS certification required or obtainable within 30 days of hire.
• CMA certification from NCCT, CMA from AAMA/ARMA, CCMA from NHA, Reg Med Asst from AMT/AMCA/AAM? (listed CMA credentials).

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations and treatment under physician guidance.
• Prepare and clean treatment rooms before and after procedures, maintaining high cleanliness and stocked supplies.
• Guide patients from waiting room and help them get ready for examination.
• Interview patients and update medical records; ensure paperwork is ready before the visit.
• Record vital signs: pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height.
• Perform ECGs and collect blood and urine samples for processing.
• Administer routine medications and vaccinations as directed; monitor adverse reactions.
• Change dressings and remove sutures/staples when required.
