Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Obesity Forecasting Associate Director in Thousand Oaks, CA to lead forecasting for the Obesity brand. You will collaborate across forecasting, insights, marketing, and finance to deliver rigorous demand forecasts and performance analyses.

You will leverage diverse data sources, guide quarterly analyses, and coordinate with teams to finalize forecasting inputs and deliverables, while managing multiple projects and vendors.

Qualifications

• Pharma/biotech forecasting experience is preferred.
• Strong data visualization and storytelling with data.
• Experience leading forecasting projects and cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with market access and reimbursement context.

Responsibilities

• Provide an objective, rigorous forecast view for demand and product performance.
• Lead development of obesity forecasts and ad-hoc requests.
• Analyze performance vs. expectations, revenue potential, market size and penetration.
• Utilize datasets (Xponent, NPA, LAAD, 852, etc.) to inform forecast assumptions.
• Support QBR, Situation Analysis, and Brand Plan with data-driven insights.
• Coordinate with marketing, finance, and cross-functional teams for inputs and assumptions.
• Develop service level agreements with clients and vendors.
• Lead quick-turnaround projects with limited guidance.
• Demonstrate project management and timeline execution across multiple projects.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and effective communication.

Obesity Forecasting, Associate Director

TheObesityForecasting Associate Director will lead forecasting for theObesitybrand. This role will report to theObesityForecasting Director within the Obesity Intelligence & Analytics organization in Thousand Oaks, United States.

Specifically, this person will:

• Provide an objective and rigorous point of view to demand forecasting and product performance, while collaborating with disciplines including forecasting/insights, marketing, finance, value and access and other functions.

• Lead the development of theobesityforecastsand ad-hoc forecasting requests

• Perform analyses and assessmentsin the area ofproduct performance relative toexpectations, estimating revenue potential, sales coverage, market size,penetrationetc.

• Leveraging various physician, patient, and transactionalinternal and externaldata sets (Xponent, NPA, LAAD, 852,etc.) to develop and explain forecast assumptions.

• Supporting the Quarterly Business Review, Situation Analysis,andBrand Plan by providing objective, data-driven insights

• Coordinate with marketing, finance, and other cross-functional teams to develop analytics and forecasting inputs and assumptions.

• Work with clients in the assigned team(s) to develop service level agreements outlining forecasting/analyticsrequirements and deliverables.

• Independently lead quick turnaround projects and deliver quality assessments, collaborating with Senior Leadership with limited guidance or oversight.

• Demonstrate strong project management,prioritizationand timeline execution across projects when working independently as well as when working with the vendors or internal teams.

• Manage professional relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

• Demonstrate excellent communication, presentation, MS PowerPoint & Excel skills.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 3 years of analytics and/or forecasting experience

OR

Masters degree and 5 years of analytics and/or forecasting experience

OR

Bachelors degree and 7 years of analytics and/or forecasting experience

OR

Associates degree and 12 years of analytics and/or forecasting experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 14 years of analytics and/or forecasting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 8 years of forecasting, market research, or business analytics experience

• Experience with advanced spreadsheets, patient based forecast modeling including dynamic patient models, andcommon forecasting tools such as Forecast Pro

• Proficiencyin SQL, and experience working withanalytics tools likeSAS, or R

• Experience in developing marketing analytics using visualization tools such as Tableau

• Working knowledge of forecasting inputs and structure, global access and reimbursement policies, and competitive environment and potential impact on product development and commercialization strategy

• Strong oral, written and presentation skills; able to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences

• Strong project management skillsable to organize and complete multiple projects efficiently and on time

• Demonstrated analytical skills combined with a client service orientation

• Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environment

• Good understanding of the latest developments in the biopharmaceutical industry, and unmet medical needs and opportunities in the assigned therapeutic area

• Broad, working knowledge of commonly used biopharmaceutical industry databases

• Demonstrated ability to think strategically to support key business decisions

• Business analytics or forecasting experience in the biopharmaceutical or other healthcare industries

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
