Job summary

Texas Children’s Hospital is seeking an Ultrasonographer OB to perform routine and specialized ultrasound exams for radiologist interpretation. You will ensure patient care, proper documentation, and quality control while maintaining a safe environment.

You may act as Charge Sonographer in the absence of the Team Leader and contribute to performance improvement initiatives. The role requires formal ultrasound training and RDMS certification, with preference for ARDMS, ARRT, and CMRT credentials,

Qualifications

• Formal training in ultrasound completed
• Bachelor's degree in diagnostic medical sonography preferred
• RDMS certification required; ARDMS preferred for imaging proficiency
• ARRT and CMRT certifications preferred for radiologic tech background
• 3 years radiographer/ultrasound experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Works independently to produce diagnostic ultrasound images following radiologist guidelines
• Communicates with radiologists to determine exam protocols and adjust when needed
• Assists radiologist with biopsies, drainages, and invasive procedures as needed
• Manages scheduling of ultrasound exams and prioritizes urgent cases
• Performs quality control checks and documents patient history and exam details
• Maintains accurate daily log of scanned patients and ensures proper requisition charges
• Reports equipment malfunctions within 24 hours and participates in performance improvement
• Displays professional demeanor and communicates appropriately with patients and staff

Education

Bachelor's Degree Diagnostic Medical Sonography preferred

RDMS - Cert-Reg Diag. Medical Sono (ARDMS) required

ARRT - Amer Regis Radiologic Technol preferred
