RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an OB Technician for the Labor & Delivery department at Trinitas Regional Medical Center. The role supports vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections, maintaining sterile environments and readiness of equipment and supplies.

Evening shift, per diem status, located at 225 Williamson Street, Elizabeth, NJ 07202. Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Surgical OB Technician program or equivalent experience, and BLS

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician or OB Technician program or equivalent experience.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and nurses during vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
• Set up and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures.
• Prepare delivery rooms and operating rooms for procedures.
• Perform surgical scrub duties for C-sections.
• Stock and maintain supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Assist with patient transport and positioning.
• Clean, disinfect, and turnover rooms between patients.
• Support emergency situations such as stat sections, hemorrhage, etc.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

This role is essential in supporting vaginal and cesarean deliveries, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring readiness of equipment and supplies,

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician or OB Technician program OR equivalent experience
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred

• Prior experience in Labor & Delivery or Operating Room
• Certified Surgical Technologist
• Knowledge of obstetrical procedures and sterile technique

Scheduling Requirements:

• Must be available to work 2 shifts a month- 1 of them being a weekend shift
• Must work 1 Summer Holiday
• Must work 1 Winter Holiday
