Overview

Assist the RN and physician in setting up for the case, maintaining sterile technique, passing correct instruments, demonstrating accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts, collecting specimens and cultures as needed, cleaning the OR and instruments, assisting with transfer of patient to recovery bed, ensuring that the OR is ready for the next case, stocking the OR supplies, and monitoring humidity and temperature daily. Additionally, check the dates and integrity of packs on a monthly basis.
