Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• National Surgical Technology certification or equivalent recognized training.
• Experience in perioperative support and sterile techniques is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing operating/procedure rooms and provides perioperative care.
• Maintains sterile field, linen, supplies, and instruments for procedures.
• Assists in preparation, draping, and positioning of patients.
• Participates in post-operative room cleanup and restocking.
• Scrubs and assists circulators under supervision for operative procedures.
• Supports aseptic technique and helps with documentation and readiness.
• Looks after supplies, counts sponges and sharps with RN before incision.
• Prepares sterile dressings and prepares specimens for analysis.
• Participates in resuscitation procedures and maintains patient safety.
• Contributes to training new staff and fosters teamwork.
• Follows department policies and quality improvement initiatives.
