Job summary

UNC Health in North Carolina is seeking an OB RN per diem for the Johnston Health Obstetrics unit. The 25-bed mother/baby unit spans two campuses, with emphasis on family-centered care and breastfeeding support.

The Clinical Nurse will coordinate and deliver care using the nursing process, reporting to the Nurse Manager/Director. Responsibilities cover education, evaluation, implementation, leadership, assessment, planning and research in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One (1) year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Education - Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs of self.
• Evaluation of Care - Identifies expected patient outcomes and collaborates with team.
• Implementation - Delivers care per nursing standards and plans.
• Leadership - Contributes to unit goals and performance improvements.
• Patient Assessment - Synthesizes data to determine care priorities.
• Planning - Collaborates with patient/family to plan care.
• Research - Reads journals and shares insights with team.
