Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible OB Laborist to join the Labor & Delivery team at IU Health North and West Hospitals. The role provides continuous inpatient obstetric care across Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Postpartum units with a shift-based model (168 shifts/year) and GYN backup as needed.

Qualifications

• MD/DO from an accredited institution.
• Board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous inpatient obstetric care on Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, and Postpartum units.
• Serve as operative backup for CNMs including operative vaginal delivery, advanced laceration repair, and cesarean sections.
• Support the OBED during high-volume or high-acuity periods.
• Evaluate and manage consults from the ED and inpatient units.
• Perform SVDs, operative vaginal deliveries, VBAC management, and cesarean sections.
• Participate in urgent nighttime GYN surgeries as needed, with GYN backup available.
• Optional teaching opportunities with rotating medical students
