Opportunity Information

Sutter East Bay Medical Group (SEBMG) seeks a full‑time OB hospitalist physician to join a collaborative team of clinicians providing compassionate, evidence‑based care to high‑risk and community clinic patients. The hospital is part of Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, the East Bay’s largest private nonprofit medical center, which delivers about 5,000 babies annually and is a referral center for high‑risk obstetrics.

FTE may be flexible from 0.5 to 1.0. The hospital has 24 labor‑and‑delivery rooms, 3 operating rooms, an 8‑bed OB triage area, a 14‑bed antepartum unit with affiliated MFM co‑management, a 55‑bed Level III NICU with in‑house neonatologists, and advanced practice nurses and OB anesthesiologists. The full electronic medical record system supports remote fetal heart‑rate monitoring. Shifts total 12–15 per month, mix of rounding and admitting. Level III NICU and interventional radiology, perinatology, neonatology are available 24/7.

Responsibilities

• Attending deliveries and OB triage
• Patient evaluation and management
• Providing surgical and OB delivery assists
• Monitoring fetal heart rate
• Providing ED coverage for OB patients
• Working closely with an on‑site midwife and collaborating with local obstetricians and midwives

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted California medical license
• Current DEA license
