Responsibilities

• Care for all pregnant women presenting emergently.
• Cultivate relationships with staff nurses and hospital personnel.
• Support private practice physicians by providing coverage and assistance.
• Care for unassigned patients and evaluate triage cases.
• Provide consultation to the ED.
• Monitor labor and deliver babies; perform surgery and surgical assists.
• Evaluate and treat postpartum patients.
• Assist with OB residents and medical student education.
• Provide nurse support and education.
• Participate in emergency drills and simulations.
• Develop best practices; participate in clinical trials.
• Facilitate daily interdisciplinary board rounds to improve patient safety
