Job summary

UM St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, MD is seeking a full-time BC/BE OB Hospitalist to join our Women's Health team. The role is strictly inpatient, covering ED, floor and L&D with a schedule of 3×12-hour shifts per week and weekend call every four weeks.

The OB Hospitalist will manage high-risk deliveries with MFM support, perform operative deliveries and C-sections, and round on post-op patients, collaborating with CNMs and NPs. MD license required; OB/GYN BE/BC credential required.

Qualifications

• MD/DO medical license in Maryland required.
• BC/BE in OB/GYN required.
• Inpatient hospitalist with obstetrics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient OB care for labor and delivery, ED, and floor coverage.
• Manage high-risk deliveries with MFM support; perform operative deliveries and cesarean sections.
• Round on postoperative patients and oversee newborn circumcisions.

UM St. Joseph Medical Center, a member of the University of Maryland Medical System, is seeking a Full-time BC/BE OB Hospitalist to join our Women's Health team in Towson, MD.

Job Specifics

• The OB/GYN physician is responsible for providing high quality, efficient, patient-centered, and cost-effective care to all assigned patients. This OB Hospitalist shall also provide health care for women related to reproductive health; provide health care before, during and after pregnancy. The OB Hospitalist will be responsible for working in collaboration with CNM and NPs which help comanage Labor and Delivery triage and labor floor. The OB Hospitalist is responsible for deliveries of high-risk patients with facilitation from MFM. OB Hospitalist does the operative deliveries and cesarean sections of all assigned patients. OB hospitalist rounds on postoperative patients and is responsible for newborn circumcisions.
• Hospital performs on average 2,200 deliveries per year
• Strictly inpatient role providing coverage to ED, floor, and L&D. Gyn surgery responsibilities are suction d and c's for miscarriages and heavy menstrual bleeding, medical and surgical management of ectopic pregnancy, laparoscopy for ovarian cysts/masses and torsion.
• See patients from low to high risk
• Schedule is 3 12-hour shifts per week and 24 hours of weekend call (2 12's or 24-hour shift) every four weeks.
• Must be willing to work days, nights, and weekends. Will have a regular weekly schedule
• Support from GYN Oncology, OB/GYN backup, & 24/7 Maternal Fetal Medicine backup
• Work alongside Certified Nurse Midwives
• Option to pick up shifts for additional compensation

• 20 beds in Level III NICU
• 30 beds on the floor used for postpartum, antepartum, and GYN patients
