The role requires ARDMS certification, BLS, and 2+ years in OB/GYN and clinical/hospital settings, with emphasis on accurate coding for billing and excellent patient service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound school.
• Certification from ARDMS and maintain credentials.
• Two years of OB/GYN experience.
• Two years in a clinic or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic ultrasound exams as ordered by providers per protocols.
• Uses appropriate transducer to obtain quality diagnostic images.
• Disinfects transducers per manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Identifies patient correctly (name, DOB, reason for visit).
• Ensures correct patient/body part is scanned and entered into system.
• Completes exams and transmits to Radiologist for reading.
• Maintains safe, clean, and compliant work environment.
• Adheres to Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standards.
• Utilizes PACS work list to expedite procedures.
• Explains procedures to patients and answers questions.
• Provides excellent customer service to patients and staff.
• Complies with HIPAA and Compliance policies.
