The University of Miami Health System in Miami, FL is seeking a part-time Ultrasound Technologist - Per Diem to perform complex ultrasound procedures and ensure high-quality diagnostic images.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, equipment operation, image optimization, and collaboration with radiologists. Requires 1 year of experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and ultrasound certification; shift flexibility including evenings/nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Certification in relevant specialty or field.
• Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.

• Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and specialty sonographic procedures in cases involving all levels of difficulty.
• Operates Ultrasound scanners and related equipment under supervision of a Radiologist.
• Ensures diagnostic quality of scans and identifies potential pathology.
• Makes preliminary interpretations and brings areas of concern to the attending physician.
• Verifies orders and gathers clinical information from medical records.
• Assists physicians in invasive and special procedures.
• Interacts with patients, explains procedures, and addresses questions.
• Cleans and maintains equipment and performs quality assurance tests.
• Trains co-workers, students, residents, and visiting personnel.
• Participates in quality improvement and adheres to safety standards.
