Job description

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a System Division Director for Complex Family Planning in its Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science.

A strong, well-functioning division is essential to advancing the clinical, research, and educational missions of the department and its academic health center partners.

The selected candidate will play a key role in ensuring excellent patient care, quality outcomes, and satisfaction. We seek talented physician candidates fully committed to the mission of Mount Sinai Health System.

Division Directors should serve as role models by demonstrating professionalism, supportiveness, respect, and accountability. The roles and responsibilities include:

General

  • Create a positive work environment that encourages communication at all levels.
  • Build a culture of professionalism, trust, and collaboration within the division.
  • Establish a system for timely communication of information from the department, medical school, MSH, and MSHS to all faculty and staff.
  • Conduct regular meetings with division personnel (clinical, research, and administrative).
  • Understand local and national healthcare trends influencing the future of the discipline.
  • Develop, implement, and update a strategic plan for the division aligned with departmental, institutional, and health system goals.
  • Identify opportunities for growth in clinical, research, and educational programs.
  • Develop division-specific missions and monitor progress.
  • Participate in departmental, hospital, and medical school programs and initiatives.
  • Counsel faculty and staff on unacceptable behaviors when necessary.
  • Ensure timely faculty evaluations and staff performance reviews.
  • Communicate and ensure compliance with departmental and institutional expectations.

Academic

  • Collaborate with the System Chair to recruit new faculty and staff.
  • Guide and monitor academic advancement of faculty and fellows through mentorship and evaluation.
  • Develop individual development plans for faculty outlining goals in clinical, research, and education domains.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and psychosocial counseling, especially for fetal abnormalities, difficult pregnancies, and fetal loss, in partnership with the Perinatal Bereavement Program.
  • Support all individuals across the reproductive spectrum and collaborate with related centers and departments within Mount Sinai.
  • Encourage faculty and fellows to volunteer in community outreach programs, such as the East Harlem Outreach Partnership and the student-run free clinic.

Qualifications

  • Medical Degree from an accredited university
  • Board Certified in OB/GYN
  • New York Medical License or eligibility to obtain one

Compensation ranges from $300,000 to $375,000 (excluding bonuses, incentives, and benefits).

Salary Disclosure:
The salary range complies with NYC salary transparency laws. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialties, productivity, and institutional needs, and may vary outside the listed range. This range applies to full-time employment and excludes bonuses and benefits.
