The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Social Worker 3 for the Abortion Access Program in Brooklyn, NY.

The Social Worker will provide supportive services for abortion patients within the New York State Access Abortion Program and collaborate with OB/GYNs, midwives and the care team to manage the termination process.

Qualificações

• Master of Social Work Degree from an accredited program.
• New York State LMSW Licensure.
• 1+ year of Social Worker experience.
• Knowledge of the New York State policy on termination of pregnancy.

Responsabilidades

• Provide supportive services for abortion patients within the New York State Access Abortion Program.
• Collaborate with patients and the healthcare teams (Obstetrics, Gynecology, Midwives) in managing the patients and provide end-to-end support.
• Manage patients' termination of pregnancies with pre- and post-supportive social and emotional care.
• Complete patient clinical assessments in accordance with regulatory standards.
