OB/GYN RESIDENCY PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Northwell Health – Northern Westchester Hospital

Position Overview

Northwell Health’s Department of OB/GYN is seeking a Residency Program Director for the OB/GYN Service Line to help establish Northern Westchester Hospital’s training program located in Mount Kisco, New York. We are looking for candidates with outstanding clinical and managerial skills, with a minimum of 5 years out of residency. Preference will be given to those with at least three years of leadership experience in OB/GYN residency education (such as Associate Program Director or Program Director).

The ideal candidate will oversee the program to ensure compliance with the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), its Residency Review Committee (RRC), and the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG). Responsibilities include ensuring comprehensive educational training, regulatory compliance, and maintaining an optimal educational environment. Additional duties involve overseeing candidate recruitment, managing the program’s budget, reviewing performance metrics, and supervising staff resources. The Director will also participate in the institutional graduate medical education committee and supervise fellows, residents, and other trainees involved in patient care.

Program Highlights

This leadership role involves collaborating with hospital and health system leaders to meet clinical, operational, and financial goals. The residency program will offer advanced training in hospital-based obstetrics and gynecology, emphasizing patient safety and comprehensive clinical, surgical, and healthcare systems education in both academic and community hospital settings. Faculty expertise includes hospitalists, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, gynecologic oncologists, family planning, and urogynecology specialists. Residents will also have opportunities to present research at the annual American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) meeting.

The hospital provides specialized services for high-risk pregnancies, including a Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and comprehensive care for premature infants. It is nationally recognized for excellence in clinical care, research, and medical education, with a diverse practice that includes high-risk pregnancy consultations, perinatal ultrasound, and fetal diagnosis/procedures. The hospital collaborates closely with pediatric subspecialists at Cohen Children’s Medical Center for complex fetal conditions.
