Job summary

The University of Arizona College of Medicine - Phoenix seeks a vice chair of research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This nationally recognized leader will guide the research vision, secure funding, and foster collaboration with university and clinical partners.

Reporting to the department chair and matrixed with Banner leadership, the appointee will oversee research programs, mentor teams, and drive scholarly output while upholding excellence in teaching and clinical service.

Qualifications

• MD/PhD or PhD with strong research leadership demonstrated.
• Eligible for an associate/full professor appointment at UA.
• Board certified in OB/GYN with AZ medical licensure eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership: set departmental research priorities and plan.
• Recruit, supervise and oversee departmental research personnel.
• Oversee allocation of funds and resources for research projects.
• Ensure IRB and sponsor compliance across studies.
• Mentor faculty, residents, fellows and students in research.
