Job summary

Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH invites a Board Certified/Eligible OB/GYN to join our established SOMC OB/GYN Associates. The position offers two compensation options, strong benefits, and a 2-year guaranteed contract with potential wRVU conversion.

Facilities include a DaVinci Robot 5 and a robust clinical team. Office hours are standard clinic times with on-call responsibilities; relocation and comprehensive compensation are included, plus extensive CME and loan repayment

• Board certified or board eligible OB/GYN licensed to practice.

Responsibilities

• Join SOMC OB/GYN Associates as a hospital-employed physician.
• Manage a high-volume clinic with patients daily.
• Participate in call coverage and nursery procedures as assigned.
• Utilize available robotic assistance (DaVinci Robot 5) when appropriate.

OPPORTUNITY:

Looking for a Board Certified/Board Eligible OB/GYN to join our well established, hospital employed OB/GYN Associates.

COMPENSATION:

• Option #1: Base salary of $399,575 (50%tile MGMA for those just completing training) with additional compensation for experience, guaranteed for 2 years. Can be switched to a wRVU production contract when exceeding target.
• Option #2: Base salary of $493,490 (75%tile MGMA) guaranteed for one year and then switched to a wRVU production contract.

* 5% less for those not yet boarded, salary adjusted accordingly upon board certification

2-year contract also includes:

• Vacation:29 PTO (paid time off) days. Additional 5 days PTO when producing 75%tile wRVUs.
• CME/Books & Journals: 5 days PTO and up to $5000
• Deferred compensation: 457b plan. Defer compensation up to IRS limit of $24,500 year before taxes. No matching.
• Retirement / Savings Plan: 403b plan. Defer compensation up to IRS limit of $24,500 year before taxes under age 50 and $31,000 for over age 50. SOMC matches dollar for dollar up to 2% of base pay.
• Moving Expense: $10,000 paid to moving company

Malpractice Insurance Coverage: in a claims made insurance, in an amount of $2,000,000, per claim/$6,000,000, aggregate

Health Insurance: physician pays small premium, deducted from paycheck

Liquidated Damages: 70 mile and 2 year non-compete clause or liquidated damages of one year salary

CERP (Pay for Call) Program: Explained by VP of Finance

• Bonus Incentives: excellent bonus incentives up to 10% of salary

Medical School Loan Repayment: repay up to $200,000 ($25,000 per year for each year of service commitment)

Residency Stipend: up to $25,000 (requires up to 2 year service commitment)

Sign on Bonus: 15% of base salary up to $100,000 (paid when contract signed and forgiven over 2-4 years)

  • Monday - Thursday 8:00a - 5:00p / Friday 8:00a - 12:00p
  • Call for your own patients throughout the week until 5:00p
  • 1:5 Weekend and holiday call along with circumcisions in the nursery
  • Eligible to earn additional compensation by joining our CERP (Pay for Call) Program

    • APP's also located in Waverly, West Union, Ironton, and Vanceburg
    • 1 nurse chaperone per provider
    • 1 Office Manager
  • Case Load
    • 25 patients/day
    • 4-6 hospital procedures/day on average
    • Procedures/Equipment
      • Office: Colposcopy, IUD insertion and removals, Biopsies
      • Hospital: DX Laparoscopy, Hysterectomy, D&C, Ablations, Tubal Ligations, Cesareans
      • Intuitive DaVinci Robot 5
    • Practice Expectations
      • Looking for a team player willing to work in a high volume clinic
      • Our advanced practitioners also service our Waverly and West Union locations
