Job description

Overview

Physician for Women’s Health (PWH), a proud affiliate of Women’s Health Connecticut, is comprised of physicians demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide obstetrical and gynecological care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

Middlesex OB&GYN Associates, part of Physicians for Women’s Health, is seeking a full-time physician to support our OB/GYN practice. Our current MD staffing includes 6 MDs, 1 DO, 1 NP, and 1 APRN. Physicians share call duties and serve patients at two office locations: Middletown, CT, and Essex, CT. The practice is affiliated with Middlesex Hospital.

Candidates must be able to diagnose patient conditions and provide appropriate treatment recommendations. They should demonstrate knowledge of fetal growth and development and be able to identify and categorize each patient’s age-specific needs.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

1. Perform comprehensive physical examinations and compile patient medical data, including health history and physical exam results.
2. Order or perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, immunizations, and basic wound care.
3. Instruct and counsel patients on therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional well-being, and health maintenance.
4. Develop and implement patient management plans, follow hospitalized patients as appropriate, record progress notes, and assist in providing continuity of care.
5. Gain competence in Electronic Medical Record System.
6. Submit billing at the time of office visits.
