Job Description

Provides comprehensive medical services for members of the family, regardless of age or sex within scope of training. Services include: prenatal, gynecological, obstetric, and educational care in a patient-centered environment. The OB/GYN (Provider) collaborates across departments to remove barriers for accessing healthcare. Must incorporate health center policies (including quality assurance) into clinical practice to ensure quality care. The mission of SJCH is to serve underserved and uninsured persons in South Los Angeles. The provider may work at various locations based on organizational needs, with occasional evening and Saturday shifts, but no hospital call or rounds. May need to travel on short notice to clinics for urgent cases, supervise PAs and NPs, and train residents or physician extender students.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: Medical Degree (MD, DO), OB/GYN Residency
• Experience: Within scope of training, familiar with EHR (eClinical Works preferred), basic computer skills
• Licensure/Certification: CA Medical License, DEA, BLS, Board certification or eligibility within 3 years of residency, HIV certification (preferred)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Gather and maintain patient information, conduct physical exams, interpret tests.
• Perform obstetric and gynecological procedures.
• Develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and monitor patient progress.
• Provide prenatal and postnatal care.
• Maintain accurate records, advise on health and disease prevention, and collaborate with staff.
• Develop rapport with patients, ensure compliance with clinical guidelines.
• Immunize patients, refer to specialists, and see a minimum of 25 patients daily.
• Work approximately 26 Saturdays per year and some evenings, with short-notice travel as needed.
