Job description

A successful OB/GYN Physician must be passionate about healthcare and dedicated to making a difference in patients' lives. The role is mission-driven, supporting Livingston Community Health in delivering high-quality care and excellent service to patients and their families.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

1. Provides primary and urgent care to female patients, including outpatient and inpatient services.
2. Collects, records, and maintains patient information such as medical histories and examination results.
3. Conducts physical examinations and orders and interprets laboratory, x-ray, and other tests.
4. Performs routine obstetric and gynecological procedures and well-woman exams.
5. Develops and implements treatment plans, prescribes medications, and provides comprehensive care during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum recovery.
6. Delivers infant delivery and related surgical procedures.
7. Educates patients on disease prevention, detection, and reproductive health.
8. Refers patients to specialists as needed and adheres to high standards of medical ethics.
9. Assists in establishing and evaluating medical policies, and participates in medical staff meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
10. Shares on-call coverage duties and supervises Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners as assigned.
11. Precepts healthcare students with prior approval.
12. Ensures documentation of encounters and tasks in the Electronic Health Record within 72 hours.
13. Provides leadership and positive role modeling to the healthcare team.
14. Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.

Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

1. Education and Experience: Medical Degree from an accredited school, minimum 2 years MD or DO OB/GYN experience, completed residency in OB/GYN, community health center experience preferred.
2. License/Certification: Unrestricted Medical License in California, Board Certification, current CPR, valid driver’s license.
3. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong understanding of OB/GYN principles, safety protocols, and infection control. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, demonstrate leadership, and manage electronic records efficiently. Calmness in emergencies, problem-solving skills, and excellent interpersonal skills are essential.
