Job summary

Ascension Medical Group Forest Park OB in Kokomo, IN is seeking a FULL TIME OBGYN to join our OB team. The practice handles a busy patient mix with approximately 60-80 births per month, sharing call with three physicians and two laborists, in a collaborative setting.

The role requires MD/DO licensure in Indiana and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification; Advanced Life Support is preferred. Kokomo offers a vibrant, family-friendly community about an hour north of Indianapolis.

• MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date.
• NRP certification required for our location.
• Advanced Life Support preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty and on-call schedules.

We Are Hiring

• Specialty: OB/GYN Physician
• Schedule: 3 days in office, 1 day in OR and 1 day off
• Practice Detail: 3 physicians, 2 full time laborists, 2 CNM and 5 NPs, and 3 sonographers.
• Facility: Ascension Medical Group: Forest Park OB
• Location: Kokomo, IN

What You Will Do

Ascension Medical Group; Forest Park in Kokomo, IN is looking for a FULL TIME OBGYN to join our OB team. Kokomo is a rural community, located about 1 hour North of Indianapolis and in recent years, was named the #1 most affordable small city in America. Kokomo is also home to the first commercially built automobile!

OB Position Highlights:

• We support most of the OB needs for Kokomo and the surrounding area.
• We are averaging 60-80 births per month.
• We currently have 3 physicians, 2 full time laborists, 2 CNM and 5 NPs, and 3 sonographers.
• Physician will share the call with the 3 other physicians and 2 laborists.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation certification) is required for our location

Responsibilities:

• Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.
• Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
• Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
• Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
• Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
• Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Indiana Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
