Job summary

Mercy Health Physicians Youngstown is seeking an OB/GYN to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as part of Women’s Services at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

You will work with a team of OB/GYNs and Advanced Practice Providers to set intrapartum care standards and to educate, supervise, and provide direct patient care. The role includes outpatient practice and surgical care with call coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• Board certified/eligible at time of employment.
• Licensed in the state of OH by the time of employment.
• DEA, NPI & prescriptive authority.
• Current BLS and NRP for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Guide development of intrapartum care standards with obstetrics team.
• Educate, supervise and provide direct care for Women’s Services patients.
• Participate in collaborative roles related to practice, research and education.
• Provide OB-GYN services in outpatient and surgical settings; share call coverage.

Job description

Mercy Heath Physicians Youngstown is seeking an OB/GYN to join our growing Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as part of Women's Services at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

You will partner with a team of other community OB/GYN providers and Advanced Practice Providers to guide development of standards for intrapartum care as well as to educate, supervise and provide direct care for patients served by Women's Services. Candidates will have dedicated time to participate in collaborative roles relative to interests in practice, research and education.

St. Joseph Warren Hospital is one of the largest providers of Level II obstetrical services in the Mahoning Valley, delivering more than 1,200 babies annually. The OB department collaborates closely with St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital-the region's largest and only Level III provider of comprehensive obstetrical care-which delivers over 3,400 babies each year. In addition, Akron Children's Hospital provides in-house coverage for deliveries and manages the Special Care Nursery.

This position will be based in the Trumbull County market and will include providing OB-GYN services in an outpatient practice setting and surgical care.

Call coverage is required to meet the needs of those patients who are unassigned. Available consultation resources include a full service MFM and level III NICU. The Special Care Nursery is in house and operated by Akron Children's Hospital.
