About the facility

A facility is seeking an OB/GYN for locum tenens coverage.

About the facility location

The facility is located in Tupelo, Mississippi.

About the clinician's workday

This facility averages 170 total hospital deliveries per month, with hospitalists handling about 18 of those. In addition, hospitalists are expected to manage an estimated 270 patient encounters and perform approximately 285 procedures monthly, not including deliveries. There is no MFM on site, but in-house anesthesia is available. The facility has a Family Medicine residency program, and hospitalists work 24-hour in-house call shifts. Hospitalists are required to provide GYN coverage for the ED and serve as first assist, with assistance available from OB/GYN community providers. They are not required to perform circumcisions or backup midwives, but they do provide backup for Family Practice, and OB/GYN ED call backup is also available.
