Job summary

Dominion Women’s Health is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our on-site team. The role focuses on coding accuracy for ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS, ensuring compliant billing and prompt reimbursements.

You will collaborate with clinicians to resolve documentation gaps, support the billing process, and handle insurance denials while maintaining patient confidentiality per HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of coding experience preferred (newly certified candidates may be considered).
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background.
  • Must submit for pre-employment & random drug screening during course of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations, payer guidelines, and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation and coding questions.
  • Prepare and submit coding information for billing and reimbursement.
  • Managing insurance denials.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Answer phones and assist patients with billing and insurance questions; create payment arrangements; assist front desk with insurance and balance related questions.

Qualifications
  • Certified Professional Coder or Certified Professional Coder Apprentice
