Job summary

Aishling Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a detail-oriented Billing/Medical Coder to join our Sandwich, IL team. You will post insurance payments, review charges, and follow up on submitted claims within the Billing Department.

The role requires medical billing experience in OB/GYN, a coding certificate if possible, and strong attention to detail. This full-time position offers a structured schedule and supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Two years of medical billing experience in OB/GYN preferred.
• Medical Coding Certificate; CPC or CPB by AAPC preferred.
• Maintain coding certification and attends in-service training as required.
• Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team.
• Strong computer skills in data entry, coding, and knowledge of EMR software; MS Office.
• Accurate and precise attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Goal-oriented, organized team player.

Responsibilities

• Post insurance payments and work denials.
• Performs accurate charge entries.
• Ensure claims are properly sent to clearinghouse.
• Serves as resource regarding insurance resolutions and billing questions.
• Follows coding guidelines and legal requirements to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Performs additional duties assigned by Billing Manager as needed.
