Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in an outpatient setting. You will room patients, take vital signs, document in the electronic medical record, and assist providers to promote efficient patient flow and patient-centered care.

This role emphasizes front desk duties within the department, scheduling, collecting payer information, and maintaining a safe environment while protecting patient PHI and complying with UH

Responsibilities

• Facilitates unit operations by managing patient flow.
• Assist with front desk duties specific to department, including scheduling patients, collecting and verifying patient payor information and other patient documentation.
• Performs basic patient centered care as delegated by provider
• Provides a safe environment for patients
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
• For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
