Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time role in the Greater Charlotte area. The position supports patient rooming, vital signs, history taking, medication reconciliation, and basic clinical procedures under provider supervision.

The role includes phlebotomy, POCT, vaccinations, scheduling, and referrals, with emphasis on teamwork, safety, and high-quality patient care. Requires MA program completion and CMA/RMA eligibility.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a clinical practice setting as a Medical Assistant.
• High School Diploma or GED required and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certified or eligible CMA/RMA through recognized national organizations or completion of related competency program.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows department policies.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, history, medication reconciliation, screenings.
• Assists providers with procedures and conducts lab duties including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines following medication administration rights.
• Maintains a clean environment and ensures supplies are stocked.
• Supports training and onboarding of teammates as needed.
• Communicates effectively with patients and team, escalating as required.
