The essential functions include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling 50-100 pounds daily, standing, walking, and sitting for long periods. Work conditions may involve exposure to communicable diseases, radiation hazards, and injury risks from patients or sharp instruments.
Must be able to work three 12-hour shifts per week from 7pm to 7:30am, including some weekends and holidays.
The fetal monitoring nurse is part of the collaborative care team responsible for continuous vigilance and tele-nursing focused on early prevention/intervention of abnormal fetal heart rate tracings within the Birthing Center, aiming to decrease fetal/neonatal morbidity and mortality. Responsibilities include patient advocacy, proactive monitoring, evidence-based care, telecommunication, clinical decision support, and compassionate ethical care.
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of Maslow’s eight Basic Human Needs, Gordon’s Functional Health Patterns, and Swanson’s Caring model. They should demonstrate excellent patient care, critical thinking, basic computer skills, and professional communication. Strong organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills are essential. The candidate should be motivated, proactive, confident in patient advocacy, team-oriented, and capable of working independently with exceptional technical skills.
