Job summary

Empower Services seeks an OASIS Coding Specialist PRN to ensure accurate CMS-compliant OASIS reviews and coding for home health. You’ll collaborate with clinicians, nurses, and physicians to align plan of care with assessments, support appropriate visit utilization, and optimize reimbursement.

The role requires experience in OASIS reviews, familiarity with HCHB, and ongoing education on regulatory changes. This is a PRN opportunity within a dynamic home health environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in home health coding and OASIS review.
• Valid driver’s license and auto liability insurance; no OIG exclusion.
• Certification as Home Health Coding Specialist (HCS-D) and COS-C or HCS-O.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze OASIS assessments for accuracy and CMS compliance.
• Assign ICD-10 codes based on referrals and OASIS data.
• Conduct face‑to‑face documentation review to support medical necessity.
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to resolve discrepancies.
• Stay updated on CMS guidelines, Value Based Purchasing, and Pre‑Claim Review.
• Provide training on OASIS documentation and quality initiatives.
