Job Description

Oppenheimer Asset Management is seeking an outstanding individual to join its OAM Alternatives Research team as a Senior Analyst. The Senior Analyst will support the team in reviewing existing investments, evaluating prospective investments, working with data, and managing compliance, operational and marketing tasks. The Senior Analyst will be a part of a small team in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment and will have constant interaction with the senior members of the team. The position is based in New York City and would be in office 5 days a week.

Responsibilities:
  1. Absorb and learn the investment philosophy and process behind hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, private credit, real estate and other asset classes.
  2. Develop understanding of financial markets and investment strategies.
  3. Assist in investment due-diligence monitoring process of existing and prospective investments by participating in calls and meetings, writing investment update reports, and reviewing data related to investment team monitoring.
  4. Support team in the investment due-diligence process including contributing analysis and critical thinking to the process.
  5. Liaise with compliance and operations regarding existing investments.
  6. Update internal research and marketing materials.
  7. Collaborate on special research and ad-hoc educational projects.
Qualifications:
  1. 3-7 years of experience working in the financial markets.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in Finance, Accounting, General Business or Business Management. Superior academic achievement at a top tier undergraduate program is required.
  3. Work experience in financial services industry or experience working in investment manager due diligence is required.
  4. Understanding of portfolio construction, risk management, equity and fixed income markets and instruments is preferred.
  5. Strong analytical skills, critical-thinking and attention to detail. Must be an ambitious, dedicated, and results-oriented individual that is an independent thinker and takes ownership of his/her work and enjoys collaborating within a team environment.
  6. Strong interest in financial markets/money management.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office in particular Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of VBA and macros and familiarity with large data sets is preferred.
  8. Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  9. CFA Charterholder or candidate preferred.
Compensation:

For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to the City of New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range is $125,000.00 - $150,000.00 at the time of this posting. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus.
